Why Smart, Savvy Business Owners will be rushing to Facebook Groups.
We’ve been using the new Facebook Groups almost daily since they came out in the first week of October and we believe they ROCK!
Here’s 5 Reasons why smart, savvy business owners will be rushing into the Facebook Groups platform in 2011:
1. With Facebook Groups you can build stronger communities and followings online.
Let’s Face it, nothing works better then a bunch of happy people talking about your business. Not only that, its Free marketing on your product, service, or personal brand name. There’s a Starbucks community, communities of raving fans for movies and musicians, and if you’re a business owner, there should be a community following your brand. Facebook Groups helps you build the core community of your business, and then build store bonds with your past, current, and future customers.
2. You can use groups to find leaders and raving fans in your community.
Have you ever heard of a street team?
A street team is a term used in marketing to describe a group of people who ‘hit the streets’ promoting an event or a product. ‘Street Teams’ are a powerful promotional tool that has been adopted industry wide as a standard line item in marketing budgets by entertainment companies, record labels, the tech industry, corporate brand marketers, new media companies and direct marketers worldwide. Street team members that are highly trained are now called Brand Ambassadors. (From Wikipedia)
So how can we build a street team online?
What could be better then using a Free service like Facebook Groups to find leaders and raving fans to gab about your brand? If corporate companies are adapting brand ambassadors, you should be able to find some leaders within your organization, and raving fans to speak about your business through groups. Heck, when your business gets huge you can create your own team of brand ambassadors, and they would be the ones who started off in the groups. Online Street Team anyone?
3. Your group will work like a forum to repost your blog and update your community of upcoming events.
So if you have not seen groups yet, this would be a great time to give you an idea of what they look like:
Heres something I found, if you post a mix of your own content (usually from a blog or as a video post) along with links to other websites / blogs that you find powerful, you’ll get more clicks on your links to your blog. Also please don’t post the same thing in 5 different groups, in a 10 minute timespan. Any group members that are in 3 or more of those groups wont take you as seriously, because they know you’re just trying to get your stuff seen, and those are usually the group members you’d want to influence the most. Mix it up a bit.
4. You can create groups to find solutions to your ideal customers’ common problems.
If you’re a smart, savvy business owner, odds are your business is based around solving problems, and being paid for it. Plumbers get paid to fix leaks, coaches are used to overcome fears, and learn new skills, and doctors treat illness. In fact, most of the time, money is spent to solve a problem. If your problem is hunger, your solution is buying food, or eating food that cost you money to buy or grow.
With groups you can create a group to solve your ideal customer’s basic problems, so that they are sold on your value, and end up using you to help solve their more advanced problems. For example, a dentist (or an alliance of dentists) could create a group to post “Solutions to Tooth Pain” where various solutions to tooth pain are discussed by dentist and customer alike. Now who do you think those customers are going to call to fill their next cavity? Naturally it will be their most local dentist in the group.
5. There is urgency to create authoritative groups.
Our Facebook community were the first ones to crack the new group code of attracting unlimited leads in several niches. Groups are brand new and very few business owners are using it correctly as a lead generation tool… yet! It won’t take too long before others outside of our community discover what we have already figured out with groups, and then they won’t have the same power. Just like Facebook Fan Pages, and Domain names, the first groups to become the most successful and with the best followings will have the best results.
This is an Online Community Gold Rush
